The ADMA Awards judging is now completed and finalists are being announced this week.

ADMA Awards recognises the best-of-the best in accountable marketing - campaigns which combine innovative strategy and cut-through creativity to deliver outstanding results and exceptional return on investment.   This year is no exception with the 2011 ADMA Awards finalists including some of Australia’s most loved and well-known brands and agencies.

The ADMA Awards rewards excellent marketing work. In past years ADMA has seen some of Australia’s up and coming marketing talent and recognised leading agencies for great work.

“The tag line for the ADMA Awards rings true – we reward ‘work that works’” commented ADMA CEO Jodie Sangster.  This year the standard around Australia has been outstanding and has created intense competition.”

More than 400 entries were received and judged across 31 categories divided into four main streams, including:

  • Creative
  • Effectiveness
  • Digital
  • CRM and Data

Simon Lee, Chair of the Creative panel shared his thoughts on this year’s entries.  “Here are four useful words for anyone planning to enter the ADMA awards next year: "Direct Mail, Radio, Press". It would be fair to say that these categories were both unrepresented and somewhat underwhelming this year. It's the work in the experiential, PR and "Campaigns" categories that got the jury excited – outstanding work that is kicking goals and keeping us on the map at shows around the world. Which is why I come back to the four words I started with - with its international cousins in danger of becoming 3 minute case study film festivals, I'd love to see the ADMA Awards be the benchmark not just for the big ideas, but for the beautifully crafted simpler ones too. Maybe next year...

In recent years, the definition of direct marketing has shifted and continues to change, primarily due to emerging channels available to marketers which yield measurable results. ADMA Awards continues to adjust to reflect shifts in the way campaigns are run.

“The quality of digital entries this year was genuinely outstanding:” commented Iain MacDonald, chair of the Digital panel. “In years gone by digital has sometimes been underwhelmed but this year it was truly a bumper crop based on feedback from judges. The diversity of ideas, depth of thinking and application of technology in digital projects/campaigns demonstrates that Australia has some world class digital talent. The whole industry can be proud of work it produced this year.”
